Wedding table name card template
Wedding can be expensive.So certain things that we
can make ourselves can offset the final cost a little or
can make the wedding more special.
I created this guest name card template for wedding.
However it can be use for other function as well.
Save it to your computer,
insert it in open office writer as a background
(Open office is free for download by the way)
go to format/page/background option, to insert.
I think you can also use MS word, but i have yet
to try it.
Type in your guests name and print it on a card
stock of 100 gsm to 120 gsm.
You can choose higher card stock but the folding
edge will not be so crispy.
Each sheet can make for four guest, so you have
to do it earlier.

bag cleaning shop logo
This is a logo i did last year for a bag cleaning shop.
The owner wanted the bag as part of the logo.
And i was thinking what colour to use?
At that time i was kind of out of ideas,
The owner off hand remark was that it is
to be colourful.
But which colour ?
Blue? green? yellow?
Finally i decided use them all!
Turn out quite well don't you think?

caricature
Caricature i like this art form,
but it needs a lot of practice.
For me it is still a hit and run.
That is why i am always captivated
but those artist that can do it so well
and easily, it just amazing.
Anyway this is just something i did.
Unfortunately cannot post the
subject picture for comparing due to
personal privacy blah blah ....
Mmmh ...still need more practice sigh.

i like cartoon style of illustration, like those
stickers found in the car shops?
Very stylize,exaggerated portion and solid colors

Anyway this is the one that i made , and i think
it is pretty close to the real deal :)
I sketch up the form and shape in pencils,
then ink it follow by cleaning up and colouring
in illusrator software.

A web tea shop logo design
Company Logo design,
Bread and butter of a freelancer i think,
or at least for me!
Most of the client know exactly
what they want ,from colours to
fonts.
If not they will show examples
of what they like.
After a few question skillfully
place ,usually the design
parameter will be realized.
Below is a name card and logo
i did much earlier.
The client like the turquoise and brown
mix and the script fonts style.
Since the logo is the also the type face,
i created a custom font for this
logo and as for the colours it is as the
client directed.

Not so common in singapore but i understand
it is common in japan . Not sure where else
have this practice.

like out of a comic style illustration.
And feel is to be light and cheerful.
And because it is printed by a print shop instead of
a traditional printing factory,there is no minimum quantity
per colour way. So taking of this advantage,
there is in total four colour variation.

Customize Birthday wrapper design
Following my earlier post on birthday party logo,
another great idea is customizes wrappers.
Simple use of colours and creative usage of font can
create nice wrapper design.
Below are some wrappers i did earlier.

Birthday party Logo
This is my favorite type of design work.
Mainly there is no fix rule here, can be fun with many colours,
can be romantic for a special person.
The artwork can be applied to invitation cards ,t-shirt ,mug ,shoes and recently
there are shops that can print it onto iphone cases.

Once in a while i do have request for tattoo designs.
I find this type of request every flattering.
To me it like the person telling me : look i like your design
enough that i will to wear it for life!
Tattoo design is quite straight forward most of the time.
This is because the client will tell you exactly what they
want. The parameter are very define.
For this one the design brief was a one liner:
Rock and roll and the letter A.
Took a week to tighten up the design for the final
pitch.
I find this type of request every flattering.
To me it like the person telling me : look i like your design
enough that i will to wear it for life!

Diamond Aircaft patch.
I always have a thing for the cool patches that pilots have on their jacket.
So recently a test pilot friend of my asked me to do one for his department.
Without much consideration of my ongoing project i drop everything and took on the offer.
So after being briefed about the design parameters,
this was what i came up for the final pitch.
For the colours it is every much inspired by the steve mcqueen movie Leman,
I believe car racing and aircraft testing is every much in the same department.
Both these jobs is about living right up there on the knife edge.
Believing in ones skill.
Pushing the performances limit of man and machine .
And As for the sexy lady ? I think that a
test pilot is quite a sexy job. The job title sound sexy and dangerous ,
very much in the league of my name is bond ...James bond?
Anyway here you go...
